Part's crossing the center line?

HOW CAN THE BODY OF TONY Pedregon CAR LAND IN THE OTHER LINE AND HE STILL GET THE WIN?

CAN PARTS FALL OFF YOUR CAR AND CROSS THE CENTER LINE AND YOU STILL CAN GET THE WIN LIGHT.

I don't think parts crossing the c/l are the issue, it would be the tire(s)....however should have been dq for weight....it made for a good story-line so dim lite looked the other way.....showtime, whatever

Years ago, when Warren Johnson wrote articles in the back of Dragster, he, as usual cut to the point, he said its not about competition, he called it "entertainment engineering"

I agree about the weight, but I guess the FC cars blow up and shed parts regularly so NHRA lets it slide and it was Tony, not Cruz, who lost the body, not a boby.

Now there's something I never thought of, with no body on the car how can you pass the scales, for that matter, if half your engine is still scattered about the track how can you pass fuel and weight.

Do the pros get a waiver for stuff like that?

If both the doors fall off my stocker but I win will I pass the scales like they do?

Interesting!

From everything I've seen at hundreds of races, I'd answer your questions as "Yes" and "Not a Chance".

I'm not sure when it was started (or if it's always been that way) but it was at least ten years ago that I learned of the waiver in the fuel.classes. All of us in the Media Center were told that as long as the car didn't cross the center line or hit a wall it would be legal to race the next round and that scales/fuel would be waived.

That's all I know since any logic used in this ruling was not provided at the time of the explanation.

Jeez, the last think I would be worrying about if my doors fell off would be scaling.Think we can all come back to reality now?

At the ET finals in Phoenix last weekend a part fell off of a car and distracted the driver in the other lane.
He lost and asked the Div 7 Director about it and was told there is no rule in the book about parts falling off.

Wasn't this a case of first or worst ? Didn't the other guy cross the centerline ?

Re: Part's crossing the center line?

We had a car lose a can of wax (must of been under the hood) and it cross the center line, the other car ,which was dialed 2sec. faster, lifted to avoid hitting it. so what would be the ruling on something like that?

ps Ed Fernandez is that your car on the left side of avatar?
