Red Line versus Valvoline versus Mobil One?

Anyone run all three of these oil back to back? Or any of them?

I did go from Mobil one 5w-20 to redline 20W both sythetics, Since I changed the rear tire pressure so I don't have any real data. Mobil One to Red Line oil pressure went up quite a bit. Poor data for the rest of it, this in the roller cam stocker. I think it was faster, could have been my wallet wishing it so.

Switched to 30 weight red line for the challenger to capture the zinc from 10-30 penzoil, since this is a flat tappet cam. Not sure if it is quicker, feel better with the zinc.

Mobil one though I know is real low on the zinc like all the street oils now.

Valvoline synthetic versus redline? Got the coupon in the mail like many. 12 bucks off a case.

Eric, I know lots of guys run Break In Oil then switch to synthetics, and see huge increases in HP on the dyno and at the track. We went one step further, and back to backed, same weight synthetic oils of several different top brands on the dyno. Our results were Eye Opening. There's a BIG difference in Oils today !

Jim,

I would appreciate your data as well....
I'm currently running Royal Purple 10W-40 synthetic, and I have Mobil 1 0W-30 and Penzoil 5W-40 in the garage. Please send me your results (you can PM me if you like).

Thanx,
Marvin

Yeah, especially the one with liquid ball bearings!!!!

I would also like a copy of your results if you wouldn't mind. I am so unsure of what type of oil we should be using. We are currently using Mobil 1 0W-30. Since Mobil 1 has a low zinc/phosphorus content, do you guys think I should be using a zinc/phosphorus additive?

I think the key point is yes unless you have a roller cam, which in theory doesn't need it as much. At least for the street cars. What the effect of the zinc/phosphorus is on the rest of the motor is a question is a valid one, and not something I had pondered till just now. Perhaps there is a benefit to running it in all the motors.
