Chevy guys won't want to hear this but I had a friend that raced SG in his '69 Camaro using only '68 Mopar SS springs and shocks but today there are A/SA 427 stockers running the CalTrac springs and bars and they are running in the high 9's.

Eric, I take it that you want to go to a bigger tire to help out on marginal tracks? I personally would keep the leaf spring, link combo. You have them and it could keep the money down. I take it that you would have to relocate the shocks? Or is it more to it on your car? Minitubs? I would try this and keep the fabrication and down time hopefully to a min. Like I said this is just my opinion. Did you figure out the problem that was causing you to pull one way when you took off? Good luck.

I will be relocating the shocks. How much room will that give me for a wider tireand wheel combo?? Yes it is for marginal tracks. The rollout difference on the slicks is the only thing i could come up with. I rotated them and it healed it. Also had about a turn to much preload. Thanks for the input. I am currently running afco multi leafs. How much would going to a mono set up help me if any??

Eric, I believe that I would keep the springs because once again you have them. Also when you go to a mono you do lose some weight but, it is off the back of the car. If I started new I would go with a mono, lighter, easier to work with etc, then add the weight back to help with traction. I just realized something you said a "W" tire? That tire is like 12" wide at the footprint. I do not believe that tire will fit with out some "work" maybe a minitub. Now a 10.5" regular tire on a 8-9" rim with the right offset I can see fitting. My tires rub the top of my shocks mainly when I turn off the track. You really can't easily put a larger dia shock on it with out rubbing. But, I run a stocker with a 10" rim and the shock is in the stock location. Good luck with your project. By the way do you have any more pictures of your car? Thanks

I do have pictures, what would you like to see? I plan on cutting the inner quarter out to fit a wider wheels and tire combo.

Eric, I would like to see general pictures. I like camaros. I like to see how people have things set up in the drivers compartment and under the hood. I can always learn something. Good luck with your project. By the way could you put a little higher rear gear in it? Just a thought.

Best money I ever spent was on my cal tracs and split monos. I went ahead and bought there 9 way shocks as well. There is no reason why these springs wont help. I run a 30x10.5 Radial and have never had any trouble hooking anywhere. 1.40 in 60ft best and really right now I cant even log the 60ft times because I think its tripping the 60ft beams with the headers or the rear tires.I tried out some 30x9 bias plys and had no luck. It has to be suspention setup but it works so good I dont wanna touch it. You will never fit a W tire without major hacking and really its not needed. And if you do hack it all out and decide you want to race stock or sell the car rolling as a stocker it will never sell. If your like me you will never sell it or anything in the shop...hahaha. But seriously look into the Calvert setup. Slide a links are good but I personally think that Calvert stuff is way superior. Just my 2 cents

I currently have the 9 ways on the back of mine as well, what tranny are you running? I am running a 400 turbo. What is your front suspension specs?
