Looking for info
Looking for information on this S/C or S/G 1995 Corvette. The previous owner has no idea what's in the engine for parts and we would like to find the original owner/builder to "pick his brain" rather than disassemble the engine to find out just what it is. The car was bought off of RacingJunk.com sometime around 2007(not sure) by a guy from New Brunswick, Canada and it came from Forest Hills, Florida somewhere north of Orlando. Previous owner did not race the car and about all we know is it has a 540, tube chassis and a Rossler trans. Would really like to contact the guy in Florida that sold it. Does anyone recognize it or have any suggestions on how we could find him? Reply to this thread or email don@maritimedragracing.com.

Re: Looking for info
Give me a car number that was on the car.
"you can run but you cant hide if you raced NHRA or IHRA, I got you, lol" |
Re: Looking for info
Don't know the number that was on the car when it was in Florida. Maybe the next step is to try to trace the chassis certification tag?

Re: Looking for info
give me a name or car number and I can help you out.

Re: Looking for info
Did a search with NHRA Division 2 for the chassis tag and found out it was actually certified in Division 3. The mystery deepens.......

Re: Looking for info
Still haven't tracked down the original owner/builder of the Corvette but now I've got a little more info to aid in the search. While looking through the weather station manual this AM I found a time card from Sunshine Dragstrip in Florida. Found another couple of mangled time cards in the bottom of the box and they also had the #4 and the Automotive Eng. name on them. Have any of you been at Sunshine Dragstrip anytime in late 2006? If so do you remember this car?

Re: Looking for info
Still having ZERO luck trying to track down any more info on this car. Everyone I've emailed has either ignored my messages or said they have never seen it before. A friend from another board saw the car at US 19 Dragway in Albany GA for a big $$ bracket race but no other info has come up.
Guy we bought the car from has been no help at all with engine specs - either he doesn't know or doesn't want us to know what's in it for camshaft, valve lash, timing, how many runs on it, etc. Guess we'll have to pull it apart to see for ourselves.... |
Re: Looking for info
whose name is on the hood scoop??? maybe take a pic of the side of the car not a front angle might stir some minds---comp 387

Re: Looking for info
Unfortunately all those graphics were applied by the guy we got the car from instead of the person who originally built the car. We couldn't find any trace of previous lettering or car numbers anywhere. The only bit of identification on the car was the chassis certification tag and NHRA was no help at all there.

Re: Looking for info
Don,
The Automotive Eng and Bud are the lane sponsors for the track. The KOS above the run data could be for the King of Street Series. Dale Harwood is the admin. of their site: http://www.king-of-the-streets.org/ You might try posting a picture on that site. You can e-mail Dale dh@harwood.com good luck with your search |
