Those '62 MoPars are so ugly they are cool! For a long time, this is a combination I have thought would be fun (and $$$$) wnd reasonably competitive!

Dwight, you need to see Jerry Bennett's and George Widuch's 62 Plymouth. It is immaculate. I'm sure there are pictures on auto imagery.

Thanks for the post .. always looking for these, fewer and fewer on the race track these days. This looks like a very nice sample, maybe as nice as Jerry Bennett's red '62 Plymouth. During the late 60's, my dad ran a '62 Dart with the 2-4bbl / 383 auto combo. Nearly every Saturday night, we'd remove the single 4 intake and 3:23 peg-leg gear and install the 2-4's and 4:11 posi. Drive it to the track and race on Sunday, then put it back "streetable" Sunday night for the work commute next week.

You can bet no matter what combo George and Jerry are running, it will be Fast and well built. I am fortunate to now own George's Volare which is a sister car to the one he built for Jerry. Both cars are show quality and well thought out. The '62 they now campaign is another work of art, both visually and mechanically. Jim

I read in one of the drag racing magazines that Jerry said that they had spent over $100,000.00 invested in the '62, WOW!

I believe that dollar amount. All the stuff in both Volares is first class. When i saw pictures of the '62 it was obvious to me who built the car. George used the same parts and engineered the car the same as the Volares. Jim

I tracked Jerry down through his car dealership when I was trying to build an Aspen bracket car. Didn't know me from Adam and spent over an hour passing on some of the tricks he'd scienced out racing his Aspen I/SA.

Thanks again Jerry!! Twelve years and it's still a dead consistant money maker.

If the 62 is half as mean as his Aspen was.......................;)

This is a nice piece,and a welcome departure from the norm. Does anybody know what engine combo it has in it?

I believe it is the 413 low compression cross ram combo.
