Ahfs
Could someone verify the rumor that the 396 375 HP alum. motor will get 10 HP in 2010?
Thanks in advance. Jim |

Re: Ahfs
Thanks Dave, so another decent run in A should not cause a problem for anyone, correct?

Re: Ahfs
Dave, the way it was explained to me is, the same person can trigger it twice at the same race. That being said means Jimmy D. triggered it twice, putting the 396 up for review. They will average all the runs in B/SA made by a 396 and if it is 1 second under it will get HP. They won't count any of the runs made in AA or A because it does not affect the B class average. Jimmy D. triggered it at 1.34 under so the HP will be 2.25% x the current HP rounded up to the next HP. Jim any run you make in A/SA won't hurt provided you don't run 1.40 as Tom stated. Happy Holidays!!!

Re: Ahfs
Dave you are correct, that's the way it was done in 2008. This year they count every run made in a class and use that average. Ask some of the S/S guys that got hit this way earlier this year.

Re: Ahfs
Mike Jeffrey received HP based off of one National Event this year (Topeka in May). It's (as far as I know) a VERY fast, one-of-a-kind 225 slant six 1980 Diplomat V/SA. Q-1 was -1.265, C-1 (doubles as Q-2) -1.233, E-1 -1.205. He received HP, based on the only National Event that combination competed at. Before 2008, he would have received no HP penalty. Apparently, the rules were changed prior to 2009, with few, if any, of us, having knowledge of the rule change that one car at one race can receive a HP hit.
