Fuel Pump Location
I have an 86 Camaro and in the Stock Elim. rules, it is stated that the fuel pump must be "installed outside of passenger area". Because this is a hatchback car and we are installing a fuel cell, we need to build a rear firewall. The plan was to mount the cell and pump in the trunk area and make a box with a hinged lid to act as the firewall. Is mounting the pump in the trunk, but contained inside the box considered "installed outside of passenger area"?? Thanks.

Re: Fuel Pump Location
I had my pump and cell in the boot or trunk area on a 87 Firebird stocker. Had a metal lid covering it, that the hatch held down when closed.
Never had any problem with tech, NHRA or IHRA, with this set up. Good luck with it. Ken |

Re: Fuel Pump Location
Always better to mount the pump below the tank, I like to use the rear part of the diff. floor pan kick up, with the fuel pump mounted with the impeller down.
This is all you need : http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p.../100_1961s.jpg |
