Header size

Has anyone back to back (tested at the track) a 3 step header 1 1/2 -1 5/8- 1 3/4 compaired to a 2 step header 1 5/8 -1 3/4?

Will a 3 step work on a chev 350 combination or is the 1 1/2 to small?

Looking for any input before I go testing.
