Aftermarket Seat Mounting---Stock / Superstock
Is there a tech issue with mounting an aftermarket ( Kirkey ) seat to a custom fabricated rail or frame bolted to the existing stock seat bolt/locations ????

No problem. I have a seat that is bolted to a tubular frame which is welded to the floor. Stock mounting points are used on the seats.

Rusty, I mount the alum seats to the stock rails. This way they mount to the original floor holes and are adjustable. The stock rails are as light as any adjustable aftermarket rails and are free!

Re: Aftermarket Seat Mounting---Stock / Superstock
I still use the stock bench seat in my '64 Ply Stocker but I want to raise the seat about 3" so that I have a better angle to push buttons and steer at the same time, not easy for an uncoordinated duffer.
Can I build my own seat brackets without running into legality problems? JimR |
