Dana 60 question
While looking at rear disc brake kits they list two different ones for Dana 60. One says with green bearing other says w/snap ring style green bearing. Without taking it apart is there a way to tell the difference? Thanks

When you look at the outside of the bearing, the green brg. will have a fixed retaining ring made onto the brg. The original brg will have an ajusting type retaining plate. Can't remember witch side . If the rearend was cut down it could have any type on it. Hammer |
Re: Dana 60 question
I don't think any "green" bearings have an adjuster like OEM. If I remember correctly, one version has a snap/retaining ring installed that the loose retaining flange sandwiches between itself and the housing end. The other version has a flange that is pressed onto the bearing. The snap ring, which is actually flat, is the prefered version. (Just remember to put the flange on the axle before pressing on the bearing.)

Look in the Summit & Jegs catalogs they show the green brg in there. Green bearings have a fixed retainer. They don't have adj. Hammer |
