Re: Not so Live from Gainesville
DRC reported that one of the delays was for a medical emergency in the pits. Any word on who it might have been?
Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |

Re: Not so Live from Gainesville
A racer had an apparent heart attack in the pits. The Alatchua County F.D. and Safety Safari were right there. I am a 33 year veteran Firefighter/Paramedic and I can say the job done by all medical workers I witnessed was fantastic and professional. The racer had no pulse and was not breathing, when they loaded him into the Rescue Unit he had a pulse. Enroute to Shands Hospital after cardioversion (shock) in the unit he became wake and alert! The statistics on this happening is normally very low, about 2%. Truly a miracle! Jim

Re: Not so Live from Gainesville
Wow....no kidding...great work.....by them. GREAT.
Hope all goes well for him and his family. Good thing I didnt witness it....that sort of thing "wrecks" me for weeks. May sound selfish but it really shakes me up. Im glad it was handled well, that the important first step , without it, the second isnt so pleasant. Quote:

Re: Not so Live from Gainesville
This is unsettling news. For those of you that may not know, Bart is the son of Mark Graham who passed away last year after suffering from a heart attack.
I just spoke with Gainesville Raceway RFC track chaplan Phil Greene. He told me he was waiting for Tom Ratliff to return to the track from Shands hospital and he would call me with a update. Please keep Bart in your thoughts and prayers. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |
