Super Stock head and block question
Hello Guys,
I have a question regarding the block and head. In the rulebook said that the piston needs to have the stock compression but can I deck the block and mill the heads to increase compression on the engine or that is prohibited? I can really find if that is permitted. By the way I'm building a Ford DOHC modular engine. Thanks in advance for your help! |

Read your engines specifications on the NHRA website, you will find all the proper numbers there. |
Re: Super Stock head and block question
Thanks for the response John. Yep, I look on the website but the casting number on the NHRA Tech Specs do not mach the number on the Stock/Super Stock Cylinder Head Volumes; I could not find the casting number there. RF-2C5EC064-AF is the casting number for the heads but all the casting numbers posted in the website are C5AE, C5AE-B, C5AE-F, C5AE-6090F, C5AE-6090F, now which one is the number for my heads?

The numbers that you found are all 1965 casting numbers. The number that you listed for your head is a 2003-2004 head. The classifcation guide shows the piston .008" in the hole and a 17cc dish in it. The head number you gave is for the 390 hp supercharged engine. thanks, Roland |
Re: Super Stock head and block question
OOOppss, thanks Roland for the correction, actually I was looking for 03-04 mach-1 heads that are pretty much the same one that came on the cobra and those were the closest numbers to the casting numbers I got, thanks again for the correction. So I guess I can do nothing with the block or heads to increase some compression or nobody want to reveal a couple of secrets....
