--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4/28/2010

NHRA announced today that hard cards will be made available to Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors attending NHRA National Events. The hard card will take the place of your paper credential and will act as a Restricted Area Pass.

The hard card will be printed with a barcode and will only be active for the national event you are registered for. The amount of hard cards made available will be based on a competitor's paid entry or Gold, Silver, Bronze card status. The table below is a breakdown of available hard cards by category.

To apply for a hard card please email NHRA sportsmanhardcard@nhra.com and provide your name, membership number, car number and mailing address. A hard card application and waiver will be sent to you. It should be noted the application must be completed, the waiver needs to be notarized, a passport photo supplied and method of payment for the $100 processing fee.

Re: Hard Cards?

Where did you find this information? Looks like another way for NHRA to make an additional $100, or does this fee come off your entry fee? Why would we want to pay another $100???

Does the phrase "hard cards will be made available to Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors" mean they are not required? It sounds like an option to me.

Greg,
See me, I'll have a glue stick and some large 8.5 x 11 corrugated cardboard squares.
(call in advance for aluminum...)

Hard Cards are the best thing since sliced bread. We've ( Pro's) have had them for around 5 years now. ...No hassels by anybody. Easy enter and no problems with rent a cops in restricted areas. No standing in line for sign in forms and stamps. Flash your card and go. Where do I sign up? .....Oh, I've already got one! JB.

I'm with Jim.....

a hard card is SOOO much easier than printing off credentials and using your degree in oragami to get it folded up to put in your clear pouch and then pin to you pants

neater, cleaner and a whole lot easier, good for admission from day 1 @ the winters to the final day of the world finals.

Unk

Re: Hard Cards?

But $100. I can see it for a pro team for the convienence as Jim said; hard sell to the non-traveling pro sportsman racers.

Bob - the lady at the NHRA trailer did the fancy origami for me this weekend when she put the sticker on. I'll stick with that route.
