Motor Home & trailer Size
Hello
Need some help, what sizes motor home do you have and what size trailer do you tow with. Thanks |
Re: Motor Home & trailer Size
George, I have had a 24 and 26 ft Goldrush trailers for many years. Both towed excellent with Suburban or we also had a Pace Arrow Class A . The older Class A MH had tiny frame extensions and we had to create a rear section to support the hitch. Used Equializer.
hitch.... Class C Four Winds had full Ford Frame to rear Bumper. Only needed Cross brace for Equalizer Hitch.... Did Great. 460 motors.... Always check Rear MH tires for pressure before trips and wear.. |

Re: Motor Home & trailer Size
Thanks.
I had 35’ home and 28’ trailer. And I thought that was way to long. Thinking of 38’ home and 28’ trailer. Just want to get some opinions. Also been reading lot about the state laws on lengths. |
Re: Motor Home & trailer Size
George,
Just about everyone with a motor home is overlength. The big question is: DO the overlength laws apply or are they applied to non-Commercial enterprise?? They could stop 80% of the racers with motor homes but the AARP Lobby is strong and you "shouldn't mess with Grandpa and Grandma!". Any motor home would benefit, as far as protecting it from damages, by using a Trailer Toad. The Trailer Toad is not cheap, but fixing a separated sidewall, broken slide-out support or loose floor costs a lot more than a Trailer Toad. I know they are not for everyone but if you consider your investment in your motor home substantial, Trailer Toad is your best investment to protect it. Even the older used Trailer Toads are selling for $2400 to $2600 so compared to other racing equipment, they are an excellent value that really works. Free shipping in April 2010. Good luck with your towing and racing in 2010. Jok |
