Hey Guys
There are a lot of good motels at exit 6 and I-85 but I would stay with the name brands.
Google it and you can see there are a bunch. The closest to the track is Comfort Inn North Chase Blvd. about a mile from the track but there is no restaurants there except micky d's. The others are about 3 or 4 miles around exit 6 and I-85. Don't stay on the south side of town off I-65 If you are coming from the north I-65 stay in Prattville if you need to stay on that side of town but that is a good drive about 8 or 10 miles to the track.Best bet is I-85 around exit 6

Thanks Mike. That's exactly the kind of input I was looking for. Since I'll be coming from the east, Exit 6 is good for me.

here is more info.
Had lunch with the track owner today and he said the two motels that were giving special rates for the race is The Courtyard by Marriott off exit 6 at 5555 Carmichael rd. 334-272-5533 He said around 62 bucks and the Comfort Inn close to the track at 4480 North Chase 334-270-0099 no price mentioned for that one.
