Just bought a Aspen SW. Where's a good place to mount the battery and fuel cell? Any thouhgts on a roll bar set up to stiffen up the chassis? Thanks

If you run stock eliminator you will have to run the battery in the stock location however, you can put a 2nd battery in the rear well of the car. My brother and I run a 1971 Chevelle Wagon. We kept our stock fuel tank because it helped balance the left to right weight.

We just have a 6 point cage mounted to the frame. On a Mopar, you don't have that luxury. Although, I have seen Mopar guys put a 10 point cage in it and not tie the sub-frames together and I have seen them do both. Talk to a fast Mopar guy for advice. Any welding of a roll cage or sub-frame connectors should be done by an experienced fabricator. On a Uni body car, you can accidently pre-load the chassis welding bars in by someone that doesn't know what they are doing and the car will never work properly.

In my stocker I have my fuel cell mounted in the spare tire well, It is a metal 5 gallon unit and I had to cut a hole in the floor to get it low enough for the cover to close. I also have a short weight box in there. If you use a plastic fuel cell you will have to enclose the exposed portion below the floor with some sheet metal. Send me your email if you would like a few pictures.
