Gotta give it a little time. Next year should be better.

A LITTLE TIME?!?! It's going to take QUITE A WHILE to have a reasonable car count when in the 5 most popular sportsman classes they had 12 TOTAL cars (including the 0 for Hot Rod). Of course, it shouldn't be hard to improve on those numbers.

They should have just lumped them all together in a Pro-Comp style handicapped race. That most certainly would have been more entertaining to watch.

In the end though (and I'm sure you guys are sick and tired of hearing me say this), the sportsman car count doesn't matter. It's all the spectator gate. If the spectator gate was good this weekend, then IHRA will be happy. The telling tale will be the spectator gate next year, as if the numbers are about the same or higher then the spectators were obviously pleased with this year's show. If the spectator gate plummets next year, then IHRA is going to need to figure out a different way to entertain the paying fans.
