strange spool problem
i bought a complete strange 3rd. member and went to install it and the mark williams 40 spline axels are not long enough to reach the splines inside the spool, it seems markwilliams splines start at the outside edge and go all the way thru the strange spool splines are in about 2' from the edge does anyone know if strage makes a spool to match or do i need to pitch the stange stuff a go back to mark williams. thanks chuck rothermel

Re: strange spool problem
You need to get a Mark Williams Spool or Strange Axles, I would think the spool would be cheaper

Re: strange spool problem
I ran into the same problem a few years ago with a car I bought. I had a Strange 40 spline 3rd member with a slightly diff. gear ratio that I wanted to use. Ended up swaping the spools. Later replaced the Strange 4 spline with a Motive Gear 40 spline spool. Seems all the 40 spline spools an axels have the same pitch/size spline.

Re: strange spool problem
don't panic strange makes a spool with thru splines , they go all the way across, and will work with the m/w axles just call them. they will probobly swap it for you if it's new. they are great to deal with . just give them a call. i always order all my third members with this spool.it keeps the axles shorter to save a little weight.
