front suspension limiters

So I need to reduce my r.t.s a bit and I thought by limiting the upward movement of my front end I might increase forward movement, equating to reduced reaction times [vrt]. I realize too little up movement will reduce weight transfer and create spin, but I've seen pictures of my launch and it looks like I have 4" over the top of my donut sized 22.5" fronts. I THOUGHT I had seen/ heard of stockers limiting front travel, but it lloks like in the NHRA rule book it's not legal? 09 rulebook pg 108, Suspension Front Lift kits/travel limiters prohibited. What say you?

Re: front suspension limiters

If you have an A arm front suspension then getting longer bumpers will do the trick. We used traction bar rubber bumpers and made the threaded end longer and used lock nuts to secure them at selected heights to tailor the amount of travel. Unless this is not allowed in 2010 that was the method of choice in the past. Before all the trick rear suspension stuff was allowed in stock and before LED lights we were cutting them off for more front end travel. The new stuff has been built with adjustable cable and ends that can be made longer or shorter with quick pins under the hood. I have seen alot of that in use in the past few years and haven't heard anyone being told it was illegal but the wording in the rule book would seem to make that unacceptable. But since in past years the rule book has time and again been ammended/over ruled I honestly couldn't tell you if the new ways will fly or not. A Shame isn't it?

Limiters are not legal in Stock although taller bumpers as SS said, would not be an issue. Cables and threaded rods would and should be an issue. Check to see if the wording is still the same in the 2010 online version.
You could also run adjustable shocks with stiffer rebound or even ad weight to the front.
