RIP Bill Bennett
 

After a short bout with cancer, It is with a heavy heart I want to let everyone know that today we lost a true class racer and a true friend.

RIP BILL gonna miss you.

The Bennett family will be in our prayers. I met Bill before our first qualifying session in the staging lanes at the '98 U.S. Nationals and found him to be a very friendly and helpful racer and person. Ironically we ended up running each other in the first round that Sunday.

I was one of the very lucky ones who was able to call Bill Bennett his friend. He always knew the right move and I'll be forever grateful for the help he gave me. He was one of the finest gentlemen I ever met.

I'm glad that I was able to catch up with him in Sonoma this year. He did a lot for us class racers for years.

He was up beat and was fighting this thing hard only a short while ago. Bill, hit the next place with all of ya passion. !!! You will be missed.

Here is some info on Bills Funeral.
Bill's memorial service will be held at 11:00, Thursday Sept. 9, 2010 at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Avenue, Los Altos. The church is at the corner of Magdalena and Foothill Expressway. We will have a celebration of Bill's life after the service at the Los Altos Country Club. There will be a quick private burial at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, and we will arrive at the reception shortly after the blessing at his grave.

Bill was a good friend with a lot of class and enthusiasm. He will be in heaven with our other departed friends watching us race. Our condolences to the Bennett family.
