A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
Would you have a problem if NHRA put the new cars in a FX class with at least resonable indexes.

Re: A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
I would have to wonder why for the last 10 years my old car 69 440-6 suffered behind the bowties and blue ovals, and my new car is faster by the same amount than my old car was slower, and now everybody wants vengance. Where was the concern over the last 10 years. I guess it's ok for me to be slow, but not to be fast. What am I missing here. I guess it's ok for the specs on my old car to be out of date, but it's not ok for the new cars.

Did you run the same 440 6-pack that came in the 1970 GTX?

Re: A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
Jeff, you Nut,
Don't you know that only the guys that "researched the rulebook" to come up with a "killer" combination are permitted to go fast. There must be some unwritten stock eliminator code some where that says that. Or maybe it should say, "only applies to a class that only some special individuals participate in. Old and fast sounds good to me. See you Thursday, Wayne Kerr |

Jeff, is this the same 440/6 pack that Mr. Wann ran in his GTX, if so then may be you need to look at your car or engine builder because if i remember seeing some Q-sheets a few years ago he didn't lose many heads ups and was always a top qualifier.

Re: A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
You read my mind Ruler. There is one over here in Division 1 rated at 417 or something like that, which I believe is pretty high for that combo and he has put up some extremely competitive numbers now and then over the last few years. (I don't know if its the same combo though.)

Re: A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
Maybe this can answer the question why MR Teuton GTX or road runner was slow. BOISE, Idaho - Final order after 6 rounds of qualifying in Stock Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northwest Division, 34th annual Napa Auto Parts Ignitor at Firebird Raceway:
Psn--Num--Class-Driver, Home Town, Machine-----------------ET---Index---(+/-) 1 7980 B/SA Steve Wann, Modesto CA, '70 GTX 10.358 11.93 -1.572 I wonder what that car would have run like at Bella Rose? |
Re: A New question to DP and Mustang Owners only
The '70 GTX / Roadrunner has the small "air grabber" hood scoop (the one that pops up).
The '69 Roadrunner gets the fiberglass hood with a big ole honkin' scoop. |
