8 or 10"

I have to run a 9" slick. Is there advantage to using one wheel over another. I plan to run a 30" tire. Seems like an 8" wheel would allow more tire growth and be a little lighter. TH400, 4:88, 2800lb 70 Nova. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

10" rim will give you a better contact patch, stretching the sidewalls keeping the contact patch flater on the track

I've tried both 8" and 10" with Hoosier 30x9 slicks. I tend to agree with both posts above. One caution: the sidewall will be about .3 to .4" wider on each side with the 10" wheel, so check your clearance!

10", especially if you use radials.
