Mission Raceway Park divisional race

MAY 16, 2007 ATTENTION RACERS:
Regarding the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event scheduled at Mission Raceway Park for May 24, 25, 26, 27, 2007.

After attending the LODRS event in Boise Idaho last weekend (May 10, 11, 12) I was approached by numerous racers asking questions and saying things like "Sorry to hear the race track is flooded and under water"..."The track is going to flood just before the race"... "The river is going to overflow just prior to the race" and "When will you decide to cancel the event due to the flood".

I just wanted to let everyone know that the river at this point is actually down and the race will be going on as scheduled. The schedule and details are here.

I hope this clears up any confusion and wrong information being distributed. (i.e.: rumors).

If you have any questions please contact me at info@missionraceway.com And please feel free to copy and paste this message to any website, forum or message board that may have posted incorrect information.

Thank you:
Wally Duperon Jr., Race Director
Mission Raceway Park

Won't be there, Mark. Sorry!

Julie,

Will the guys be coming up with the Hemi's?

I haven't raced in 3 years, and am busting my tail to try to get there next weekend.

Hope to see you somewhere soon.

No, Jeff. Hemi's are in hibernation until later this summer. Lots of health issues with our team right now.

Good luck at the race. I love Mission and am sad we won't be there this year.

Julie
I'm sorry to hear about that and i will miss you good folks. I hope these health issues are not too serious and a full recorvery happens soon.

The river looks OK today and i doubt there is much to worry about in the next couple weeks at all.

As i recall the last time the river got real high it wasn't until mid June. The speed of the snow melt is the key.

I hope everybody else shows up as it still is quite cool in the mornings and we could see some wickedly fast numbers.

For those that really want to be on top of things ... our Govt. actually does provide some usefull information . Just accept the terms on the website and look under British Columbia , and find Fraser River at Mission .. and there you go .. real time data ... http://scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/formnav.asp

somebody school me on how to put a hyperlink in these messages.

When posting, on the left it says Message:

below that it says: Message Tags
How to use colors, images and urls in your message.

Click on the word Message Tags. That should help.

That site is hard to interpret and the numbers don't mean much unless you know where the danger zone is.
The local paper today says the flood threat is quite low and less than in 1999, anybody remember that? National Open combined with a Mosquitofest?

Jody Lang 05-19-2007 04:33 PM

Tom, what's the weather looking like for next weekend?
