Bio degradeable RV anti-freeze

Any down side to using RV anti-freeze for storing your race car in the winter?
I have been using the standard "green" anti-freeze, but it is so hard to dispose of in the spring when I dump it in preparation for another race season. My block is hard blocked, if that matters..... TIA

Bob,

I've been using rv antifreez ( the pink stuff) in my s/c car for over 10 yrs now, I use it year round. I have never had any cooling problems, no rust, ......cleans up well. I used to travel from the midwest (Illinois) to fla in feb. My blk is also filled.

Hope this helps

Rick

Will there be a problem if I don't get every last bit of water out before filling with the "pink stuff" as the drains on the sides of the block are useless after the hard block, fill?
I do pump as much of the water out as I can by running my electric w/pump and opening the drain on the radiator
I store the car in an un-heated, attached garage for a northern Illinois winter...

Bob, my guess would be get it all.....even if you have to fill it with pink and run your pump to thin out the water, drain then refill. maybe twice.

Keep in mind, pink stuff is cheap, so wasting a little won't hurt. And to avoid all this work next year....just run it year round.

This subject came up on DDR too , you might give it a read too.
