Would have been an outstanding race. Larry has been coming here for a long time, and was cool to see him win one. Mohar pocketed $550 for his win, Fahey took home $250 in his street-legal big boat Chevy. Hallstrom earned $100, along with by far low ET and top speed of the weekend (at that point), and Ferrucci and Anderson received $50 for their efforts. Shelby Hurley drove her P/SA '55 Chevy to the win in the No-Elecronics Gamblers Race, a nice birthday present a day early. Eight cars that ran on Saturday, during the test and tune and/or combo race, broke and were unable to run, or were unable to return for Sunday. They were:

Wallace "Pie" Dent, who once raced a Stocker formerly raced by the late Lee Sherman, fittingly wins the Tenth Annual (named) Lee Sherman Memorial race. "Qualifying" (the ladder is set for round 2 based on winning round 1 reaction times) was tough. An .030 light got you 12th out of 22 cars and an .012 got you seventh. Three cars on Sunday had trouble and could not compete.

We had 55 total cars for the weeked. A little less than I expected, but still a great turnout, for the chilly weather, which I'm sure kept a few folks home. It was the biggest turnout ever for a Saturday here, and the second biggest turnout for both a total car count and a Sunday first round. I really want to thank everyone for coming out. I hope you had as much fun at it as we did. We will do it again next year, and probably also will be another $2,000 to win race, so I can have a whole year to hype it, instead of six weeks. See you all next year!
