2011 Top Stock - EastCoastStockSuperstock
Gauging interest for a possible Top Stock race up here in the northeast in 2011 at one of the East Coast Stock Super Stock races. Spoke with Dave Ley shortly and I'm presently just seeing if enough people would be interested. Have a few sponsors willing to jump on board and make the trip slightly worth while to the competitors. Here are some of the guidelines. They are pretty identical to the way it was run up here a few years back.
Heads-up, no handicap, first to the finish racing. AA,A,B,C,D cars running at a weight break of 8.25 plus 170 pounds. All NHRA rules apply to vehicles and engines. Cars will be weighed and fuel checked during all runs. Tree will be .500 pro-tree. Winner (and possibly runner-up) will be subject to inspection including (carburetor, intake, cam lift, etc...) Plan is to have a minimum of 8 cars. Race would be held at Atco, along with the ECSS race but competitors would not be able to do both. Dave Ley has yet to set the 2011 schedule but as most in the northeast are aware, they are on off weekends for the Division 1 guys. Please send me a message or e-mail me at mficacci@aol.com if interested. P.S. I believe we have yet to have a "new" car at an ECSS race and I know all competitors would like to not have them included. The tentative plan is for pre-2008 NHRA Stock Eliminator cars although I would be willing to run a separate heads-up race if 8 "new" cars e-mail me. |

Dear Mike, If it's Pre-2008 and you check Carb, Intake, weight and gas you can count us in on both cars. Thanks Joe Fasano.

You can count on me with the Shelby, not the new car. As long as you do check weight, carbs, intakes, cam lift, and fuel.

Mike, another great venue for this might be at the Super Chevy at MG. That could be a great show in addition to the Stock/SS event.

Re: 2011 Top Stock - EastCoastStockSuperstock
Super Chevy Show is definitely something worth looking into. Actually falls on a pretty good weekend this year in the middle of July although it may be 105-degrees. July 14-17. The plan is for a one day run-off. Super Chevy Show Maple Grove tends to be a huge event, but nothing is out of the question. Would be nice to have some fans in the stands though.
Have some great interest already. 1969 L88 Corvette 1969 L88 Camaro 1970 402 Nova 1968 428 Shelby Where are the Mopars? |
