You might want to contact Mike Graham, GTX John or Kenny Etter here on the board,
They all have quite alot of experience with the TQ

Since you must run the 1.50" primary TQ, I would recommend the 6138S or 6139S. These are the simplest and run very well. The are from the '72 340 auto or stick application. Jim

Jim: Those # are both SMALL 1 3/8 primaries I believe...... not 1 1/2 like the 360 are allowed to run.
Not a lot of difference between big and little carbs in performance but we ourselves run a big one on applications that are allowed either size which are quite a few according to NHRA tech specs. We like the 6138 or 6340 on any 340 combination either High or Low Compression and I have a bunch of both.

Right John, what I meant to say was even though he can run the 1.50" primary I would still recommend the #6138S if NHRA will allow it. That series carb is built most like the competition series carb than the rest of them. I have found on back to back runs that the 1.50" primary is not worth more than .01 or .02 over the 1 3/8" primary carb in the best of conditions. Jim

I complete agree with you Jim about the difference not being a whole lot. However my oldest boy Robert lost the class final in Vegas Nat's last year by .0001.....he was not happy with me. A few years before I won a Heads Up Round in Denver Nat'ls by .0001. There have been days I would Kill for a hundredth in Class!
