A different SSGT question?
Please educate me,
IF I was to run my 383 Duster as a SSGT car, the long block parts needs to be legal for the year claimed (70 or 71), the correct carb must be used, but what about the intake manifold? Aftermarket OK? Other than that, cam and pistons #'s must be what is in the tech sheets? As you can see it's pretty boring around here this morning. |
Re: A different SSGT question?
I thought it was any intake (right number of carbs in your case as claimed 1 4B ) that fits under your flat hood. But check futher...I'm new at this. LOL

Re: A different SSGT question?
It's a Superstock motor put in a different year body. I'm building the same motor, it's rated at 304 HP for GT. In a Duster you'll fall higher than GT/HA so you'll need a full certified cage for starts.

Re: A different SSGT question?
Pistons can have notches in SS I think and I think there was an available scoop in a 74, so a live scoop is ok since the 383 had a scoop.

Any valve train or intake (relative to OEM configuration), porting within specs, and a few other items allowed. Consult rulebook. SS is the next level above Stock. |

highest weight of a 360 Duster at 3400lbs so it should fall into SSGT/FA, but maybe I did it wrong? |

Thank you Jeff Lee, now all I need is for the Lotto numbers to fall my way....

Re: A different SSGT question?
I thought for Super Stock that you can use any intake manifold as long as it is configured the same as the original manifold.
