Re: Buy now and save
Everyone should have one of these or something similar. Not only is it a rule now, but it may save your life or the life of the people pitted next to you. Some good friends of mine almost died in their living quarters trailer several years ago. They had a proper generator compartment and everything. The carbon monoxide was hanging under the trailer on a foggy humid night and it came into the living quarters. His wife just happen to wake up and felt bad. She promptly woke him up and they got out. The EMT's told them they were lucky they got out alive. They had carbon monoxide poisoning.
NHRA needs to make sure they enforce this rule. I for one, don't want to pit next to someone that isn't using some sort of stack. |
Re: Buy now and save
I agree they make all these rules no one to inforce them.Yhis is a great unit

Re: Buy now and save
THIS IS NO SPECIAL DEAL maybe for Camping World which is way overpriced anyway--Going price at MOST ANY non camper/motorhome dealer is in the $124-134 price range-- if they have it in stock NO shipping charges----Ya can make one with a little ingenuity for less than 2 hours of your time and about $20-30---- YES everyone needs something like this ----Comp

Re: Buy now and save
What a deal! Only $47 more than from Amazon and you have to join their worthless club. If you buy anything from them you can be sure you paid too much.:)

Re: Buy now and save
A carbon monoxide detector should be standard fair in anyones trailer. The amount of generators running at any given time is enormous. Even with the stacks there are some areas that seem to the exhaust just seems to linger. Joe

Re: Buy now and save
Problem with these is that they don't work on the best and one of the most popular generators, the Honda EU series. They are the quietest, most efficient generators out there, but don't render themselves easily to the vent stack.
|
Re: Buy now and save
according to NHRA the only generators(RV types) that need to be vented are those in a "compartment"---the generators(portable type with like a Honda/B&S engine) that are on the ground or front drawbar are for the time being not being addressed--2nd the idea of a CO monitor in ALL trailers/campers/RV/Motorhomes whether at the track or just camping---Cheap insurance---MIGHT SAVE SOMEBODIES LIFE

Re: Buy now and save
Had a CO2 detector in our trailer, took it out. Went off all the time. Maybe it was a cheap brand, maybe old, maybe too much CO2 at a race track. Who knows.

Re: Buy now and save
Chris, the original one in our trailer went off like that ....bought a name brand replacement problem solved. Joe
