1970 Cuda sheetmetal
Will a front clip from a 70 Cuda bolt on a 70 Challenger?

Re: 1970 Cuda sheetmetal
maybe, the difference was the challenger was an inch or two longer thru the doors...

different body lines from doors to fenders.

Re: 1970 Cuda sheetmetal
The difference in wheelbase I believe is a couple of inches...I believe all in the back. The cuda is smooth sides and Chal. has sculptured body lines along entire side. It would look AWFUL! A stock racer in mid 70's showed up with a 71 Roadrunner with 74 front clip at Winters. back then and it looked pretty bad also!

You can make anything fit if you have a big enough hammer: But the answer is NO. It's not just going to bolt on and why would you do it any way? The doors are different lengths, fenders are different lengths. Why screw up two distinctively good looking cars? But again. It's not just going to bolt on.

Re: 1970 Cuda sheetmetal
Thanks for the replys. As you can see i know nothing about Mopars. A freind of mine has a 1970 Challanger that needs a front end. He has found a 70 Cuda and thought he could put the front end on his car. Anybody have a Challanger front end to trade for a Cuda front end. We will pick the car up this weekend and will take some pics. There maybe some other stuff to get rid of as this is a complete car. The roof and insides are trashed. But he only paid 200$ for the car.

Huge Mopar site and extensive classified section, including swap/trade. Dart/Demon and Duster front clips can be swapped easily and several have done it. For reference Challengers have a 110" wheelbase and 1970 and newer Barracudas have 108". Otherwise, they are the same under the sheetmetal. |
