How important is wheelbase in picking a combo

I was just curious in how important it is to pick a car combo with a wheelbase of 105 inches being that all prostockers run that, ? Seems like it would put the back wheels in better rubber then a longer wheelbase car

Well...I have a 97" WB and it was a major consideration for me. Not only is weight transfer better when short, the rear tires are on a nice spot on the track when staged. It's were the rubber is built up and not where the other guys slicks & quarter panels just dripped water.
Shortest cars are AMX's and Corvettes

Just as important is how the body sits over the wheelbase.

Ever wonder why a Chevy II works well on the starting line?

Look at the front overhang compared to the rear overhang.
