Re: SBF oil pump
This is the pump I run did alot of research. Melling 10687 has a threaded plug for the relief spring it also has support on on both sides of the gears shaft. Nice pump compared to what else is out there got mine from summit for about $50.

Re: SBF oil pump
10/4 on the 10687 west coast. thankyou. (motor is a 302ci) i just have this mellings std. volume gear type pump new on the shelf and i'd like to move it...canton lists a higher pressure spring and the required type plug, they say it's a '69/'70 boss 302 plug. sometimes the simplest things turns into an aggravating situation....

Re: SBF oil pump
gearotor style...my mistake. 21/32" shallow plug found at the parts store. tapped gently to get the plug to start and snugged up the pickup tube & gasket into place. canton spring made 72lbs. pressure on the stand. (hyd. roller 302ci., street clearences w/shell 15/40 rotella T.)
