Talk about being under-rated!!!

Could this be right? Bob Shaw 12 773 on the original index of 14.85. For those of you that cannot subtract, that 2.077 under or 2.377 under the old index! Flame all you want about the new $100,000. race cars. This one can be done for less than $5,000.

Then you should do one. Good luck with that.

Billy, You miss my point. I'm not complaining. Just stating that the new cars are not the only ones under-rated, there are plenty of older cars that are under-rated also. You don't have to spend $100,000. to get one.

I didn't think that you were complaining. I see that you're "no longer racing". You should get back out there! BTW, you are correct that there are a few older combos that are under-rated. The difference being the number of racers that are affected by the new cars. I've been racing these older cars for years and no one noticed.
(whine, wimper, feel sorry for me, send money)

Should it matter if it affects 1 or 100? I don't think Captain Jack is too happy! BTW, I am getting back into it and I'm doing it with a late model LT1. Its been beat on pretty good and I'll be in the middle of all the new cars, but I'll never be on here bad mouthing (you don't but others do) anyone willing to spend money. If it wasn't for those guys spending money, I wouldn't be able to finish my car.

After all the time, effort, and money invested into a cupcake, at the end of the day you have a cupcake. Sorry for Captain Jacks misfortune. His performance was stellar and he should be proud, he still entered knowing his competitor is at least 50 hp underrated. It's a shame though....

The shame is that if the run had counted on the AHFS, at 2.077 under the index the car would have only gotten 34 horsepower. Figuring that it should be factored where it could still be 1.00 under it would take a total of 60 horsepower to move it to Q/SA. And that won't happen for a long time to come thanks to the AHFS.

There you go!! Thats the problem. Its not the people spending the money...it's the person making the rule!
