NHRA stocker cam lift question...
 
can somebody tell me if less lift is acceptable?
or does it have to be spec?

Less than stock lift is fine.

I think it is prudent to leave a few Thousands on the table as insurance in
tear down as there is zero tolerance. We leave .003 to .005 on all our
stockers at a minimum. The tech men have a bunch of measurements
to do in the field in a short time.....If the dial indicator is not at a perfect
90 degree angle and off very much it will not read accurately.

That said we do try to make the lifts on every cylinder as equal as
humanly possible.
