Mir race way

Well I guess we will have to rename Maryland International Raceway (MIR-Budds Creek) to "Myron (Piatek) kills'em again Raceway". He took stock elim again in his "Locomotion" 75 Dodge Sport and picked up the almost $8000 total winnings over a tough field includining Brandon Pertersons red Camaro in the final with an almost dead on run. Those who didnt make the trip missed a great show. Hot weather, lots of sunshine. Lots of good NHRA cars were there also. Bertozzi won Super Stock over a breaking Gil (Homer) Carty in the final. He was not to be denied. Anthony is one heck of a tough racer. Im glad to have driven almost 16 hours to see it. No mater what some think....IHRA rocks.

Congrats to my homeboy Myronee! Once again he knocks 'em dead! The NHRA guys should feel lucky he doesn't run with them! Jim:D

A big Congrats to Myron for coming up from Florida and winnng the Stock title and to Anthony for his Super Stock win. A .001 in the final sure gets things in the right direction too. Two great champions, in any sanctioning body, racing and winning in this Sportsman race.

Nice job Myron and Ant...Anyone who wins there deserves it... The heat was brutal and competition was also......Tough weekend for us and on top of that the gen quit in the motorhome........

It seems that everyone enjoyed the effort from IHRA and MIR. There was one point where track conditions were poor, and that was during S/S (I think E-3 or E-4). After that round, track prep was adjusted to meet the demands of the intense heat conditions.

Hopefully anyone with a legitimate issue or concern about how the event unfolded will forward it to IHRA/MIR in a constructive fashion.

I was there on Thursday, and I left after the last set of cars ran on Sunday evening. I was punishing myself for not having my Corvette ready.

Special thanks to all the competitors that took the invitation from IHRA and MIR to enhance sportsman racing. Hopefully, this event could become the spark that would allow sportsman racing to thrive again. Watching a nice event like that with great racers is a source of motivation for me! And I soaked it all up!

I met Myron at MIR the year I ran some IHRA races.I found him to be a real gentleman, with a racing demon inside that peaceful exterior.:>):>):>)
I think he would do very well in NHRA stock eliminator racing.

x 2 ,and will help you any way he can......meaning if he had a traditional stocker instead a crate motor class......you would know he was there for sure.....
He is as good a driver as there is out there....congrats Myron

Thank you! :) I've had some really good luck at Budds Creek the in last few years. It was also fun to race with a bigger group of cars than what's been the norm lately. Can't thank IHRA, Summit, classracer.com and MIR for putting this race on and promoting it. But.... damn, it was hot. Drove home Monday and worked today. Still recovering and re-hydrating! lol

Yea, it would be nice to have a regular Stocker combo for more flexibility. But the NHRA BS and higher expenses doesn't make it easy. The learning curve on Carter carbs and F.I. combos seems kinda steep also. I gotta stick to what I have and know so racing can help pay for itself.
