Front Tire Size

I have a 26" front tire and I consistently cut .040 lights. What size tire would I need to cut .015 to .020 lights? 24" tires?

You might have to take a bump or two.......might want to try some more rear tire pressure too to speed up the cars reaction time a bit, of course a bit higher launch RPM, will not hurt along with higher front air pressure...

I went from 26" to 28" to slow my RT down a bit, but it was several years ago. I'm pretty sure it was at least .10, but don't recall the exact #. You can still add air to fine-tune it for quicker RT's. But the size change will make more difference than front tire air pressure adjustments within safe/resonable limits.

Check front and rear suspension bushings for wear also. New ones will firm things up.

6-8 point roll bar and/or frame connectors already in? That should also help.

^^Agree. Leave it and add 6-8 pounds of air...or launch at a higher RPM.

In my opinion 6-8 lbs of air won't even be .01 improvement

I footbrake with no 2 step (currently). It doesnt mention what launch control setup... 6-8 pounds and changing RPM will affect mine enough...

2" diameter change in front tires can be .010-.015.

This depends on what the change in air pressure is, "from what, to what". 40 to 46psi? No, you're not going to see anything. 30 to 36? Yes, definite change.

I wrote an extensive (10+pg) editorial on www.thisisbracketracing.com covering bottom bulb reaction times and how to adjust them. It is a subscription site, but worth every penny and then some.
