Stock/Super Stock race August 21, Quaker City, Salem Ohio
 

Sorry for not giving a lot of time, but I just found out last night. I'm posting it here, so it can be seen by more people.

Quaker City Motorsports Park Sunday August 21, this is the make-up for the 'weeped-out' Nostalgia Classic race from May 29. Race will be the same as was scheduled then. S/SS race, UMTR (stick S/SS cars can run both if they wish), Gassers, Box and No-Box classes for pre-1980 cars, car show, and exhibition runs by nostalgia cars.

Gates open at 8 am. Time trials begin at 10 am. If we get a third time trial, we'll do a best package shootout during the 3rd run. S/SS is free at the gate (no tech card fee). $100 race entry, 100% payback. Round money starts at $50 2nd round loser and doubles each round after (100 3rd, 200 4th. And 400 5th, if the race goes six rounds). 23 cars guarantees $1,000 to win and $500 r/u; 40 cars guarantees $1,500 win and $700 r/u. All NHRA and IHRA-legal cars welcome. Race #3 (of seven) for the season (still time to join points; $25 fee, best four races count; top three finishers will be paid. If the weather remains warm and humid, would be a good test session for Indy. Hope to see you here on August 21!

Talking about Quaker City Dragway. I sold my factory 1963 Z-11 alum. fendered A/FX to someone from that area. I think his name was/is Roger Cunningham - hard to remember because it was in 1963. A picture of the car is in my photo album. I received one of about 36 of those cars that were actulatly distributed; and raced at Niagara Dragway and Lancaster in 1963, also did some match racing in Canada against some Detroit cars.
Anyone from that area know what happened to that car?

Racers that arrive late on Saturday will be permitted to camp/stay overnight may do so for free. Those who are there most of the day Saturday (but not racing) will be charged the $10/person fee.
