Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
Looking at my August 26 Dragster p 38 the event purse is listed. Listed in Stock and Super Stock.
"Maximum 128 cars (class winners + qualifiers) payout begins 2nd round [SS] 3rd round [Stock]" This will add some diversity to the mix, and some WOT runs by your 1000' club members. Salt tablets will be issued before the run to help 1000' racers avoid the expected muscle cramps in their right leg. Where's my truck??? |
Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
Larry, all the National Event listed payouts state that. "128 cars (Class Winners plus qualifiers)". Even when the quota for an event is 60-90 cars. Sadly, another rule change, for the worse, in Class Racing likely brought on by whiners.

Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
I thought it was the quickest 128 cars.

Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
Toby, it is, since 2008. Winning Class, no matter how many cars are in it, does not get you in the show. Sad.

Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
Since there are no singles in class anymore, maybe they should change this rule back! The combo winners should be in the field! Take that idea to your competition rep!

Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
Hey Travis,
Is this true? Have the rules changed? The way it reads it's class winners + qualifiers??? |
Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
It's read the same for years, even after the rule changes. It misleading - maybe all the non-qualifying class winners since the rule change should file a class-action suit for the false advertising (j/k)!

Re: Did NHRA Change The Rules Again?
The point may be moot - as of this evening there were 132 entries in Stock Eliminator for a 180 entry quota, 73.3%. Entries close on Monday at noon, so as of now only 4 people go home to make a 128 fastest field, hopefully NOT one of the Class Winners!
