Carb Identification

Please help me out. I am new to stock. I received a second carb with the stocker I just purchased. I was told it was recently done by Hedworth. What # do I look for to identify this carb. Where on the carb is it located? Also where do I locate what carb# I need for my combo? It's a 75 Nova hatch. With a 165 up 350 and auto trans.

I see 71325r on one carb ear also on secondary tops 32712 & 32747. On bottom secondaries 29909

Any help is appreciated. Sorry if this is simple.

Good Question!

Go to the NHRA web-site, click on the "Competition" button , and look for "Engine Blueprint Specifications". The 1975 Chevrolet 350 factory rated at 165 HP uses a Rochester 4-barrel #7045206 with the automatic, (the number should be stamped into the side of the carb vertically) although any Q-jet with dimensions of 1375x2250/1218xAir Valve can be substituted. I'm not really sure how you identify who modified the carburetor, but there may be a tag or other indication somewhere.

Good luck with the build!

Re: Carb Identification

Also remember carb # dose not matter it is the size dose, it gives measurements in the carb specs.

Re: Carb Identification

Ok the # is 7057202. It does not appear to me that this is legal for my car. I am going to sell it. What is a race prepped Hedworth of this # worth?? Make me offers or steer me in right direction to sell this. I'm just a few $ short of ordering my trans from Lynn this could be just what I need to seal that deal.

Again thanks as there is tons to learn

Re: Carb Identification

That carb fit's a 1977 Chevy 350 rated at 180 HP with AT. It's the same size as the one that came on the 1975 Nova, so you can probably use it on your car, maybe as a spare.

Hope that helps!
