It's kind of sad to see

The Max Wedge cars become obsolete almost overnight. They had a good run of almost 50 years so I shouldn't complain, The Hemi cars are next. Hey, they'll make really cool nostalgia cars. I guess I have the same feeling in my gut that the flat head Ford guys did when technology passed them by. I think the 383 still has possibilities though, Shhhhh.

Paul, how about 50 some years from now when the old farts (who are young guns now)
grieve for the Mustangs,DPs and probably the Camaros that aren't competitive with the latest offerings from Fiat,Nissan,Honda and Sforgart (Russian) and Sandbuggy (Arab Motors).

Real Men Need Two Carbs!

NOOOOOOOO!!!

I was born in 1965 and they'll bury me in my '64 Max Wedge wagon. Like any good Max Warrior I'll fix it/make it faster next time!

The 383 is just a rumor, like decent Seattle weather...

Pffft, there will always be dragracing. The question is what type. Class will still be around but it might be changed around some.
Dragracing in general though? As long as there are two guys with two of anything, they will race them. I caught my boys "dragracing" shopping carts in an empty isle the other week. Younger one was losing so the older one spotted him. Bracket racing is too confusing for the average spectator, yeah right!

15 years? Now who's the optimist? At the rate of decline we will be lucky to see 5 years!! I'll bet you that case of Pepsi on that! Jim:eek:

Some tough decisions for guys like Shaul and Mosbeck. The Barton guys have already made theirs. Unless NHRA creates new classes for the CJs and DPs.

It's not just the Max wedge cars that are in danger of becoming obsolete. Any car in AA through L is in danger of becoming obsolete. On a more positive note, I keep hearing that the new cars are going to have their own classes next year, although I'll believe it when I see it.
