Do the pinion center in line with the car center line on nova 1970?

The offset is .520 to the passenger side on 1970 & 1971 rear end. KenneyKelley

Offset is .520". If you measure from the end of the housing to the center of the pinion, the difference is about 1". Tom - The offset is handled with the differential carrier, thus the axles are the same from side to side. |

Thank ! everybody,
Mine at time is at .750 to the passenger side . The transmission tail is on the centerline So the drive shaft do not line up with the pinion.This bring an other question! Is it better the put the pinion , on the car centerline or let it as is? |

i suppose ideally but a little offset will not hurt anything (unless the drive shaft rubs on something like the driveshaft tunnel)
