Ticket/crew pass situation this weekend
I already had crew passes for my dad and uncle, but now that it is a one day elimination, my sister, her bf, my cousin, my grandfather all would like to come. I heard that the 10 dollar ticket only gets you to the spectator side.. so does that mean they can't come over to my pit spot? Do I have to buy 85 dollar crew passes for each of them to watch me for one day?

Re: Ticket/crew pass situation this weekend
Bobby,
I've been wondering the same thing cause I'm coming up tomorrow night to hang out with the Barbato's on Saturday but, I'm hearing the $10 pass only gets you over to the spectator side and they have no passes available for the pits or restricted area's. Could someone clear this up? Rob |
Re: Ticket/crew pass situation this weekend
Well NHRA brags that every ticket is a pit pass....
I would think the $10 fee is to get in the gate and have a grandstand general admission spot. Crew passes get your crew members up past the staging lanes and to the starting line. (wristbands) I can't imagine the track telling fans they can't walk through the pits. |

I asked (via email) Kent Hanly about this a few days ago and the answer I got was consistent with your assunption. Ten dollars gets you to the spectator side only. Seems word was out that racers were gonna buy their crew members $10 passes instead of $85 crew passes. Do the math. So all your family and friends can wave at you from the stands. I was going to go out to spectate/enjoy myself and shoot some film, hang out with my buds, but now I will simply stay home. Jimmie C. |
Re: Ticket/crew pass situation this weekend
I called Maple Grove today and they said I had to ask Bob Lang about this. I guess there would be no way to prove that you were originally an $85 crew member or if you were just a stranger off the street who heard there was some racing going on that you could watch for $10.
Perhaps they could think of all the fuel, work days, hotel rooms, travel time, and $$ it cost to come and go last week and actually let us transfer our crew passes in lieu of $10 per day tickets? That would be a nice gesture and I would tip my hat to them if they did that. I already used my crew passes last weekend I'm just trying to get my relatives out (Hey more fans for you NHRA) to watch us this weekend and only pay 10 bucks a day, and actually come and talk to me instead of being on the other side of the berlin wall. |
Re: Ticket/crew pass situation this weekend
I was informed by James Perrone that he paid 85 for a crew ticket. NHRA should be embarrassed. They should be happy with racers coming back but instead they shove it in our *** again. I'm glad to say I'm not going back. Wish everyone good luck but NHRA can go scratch.

Bobby - I was told the racer AND the crew passes were good for both weekends.
