Geting a shock!
A mounting bolt broke so I was taking my 1 wire alternator off with the battery
hooked up (I know you shouldn't do that!) I was in a hurry... I had it unbolted from the engine and it gave me a constant shock where my arm was touching the rad support. Why do I get a shock?? |
Re: Geting a shock!
I'd say when you touched rad.support you became the ground that was disconnected when alt was took off block.
If you had been wet then you would have talked, you know in the movies when they try to get info by wetting person down and hooking jumper cables from car battery to them. DC hurts. I was working on wiring and had some phone wires I don't know what voltage DC they have but I was sweating and found out if you brush the top of your sweaty head into them you can locate a bald spot pretty quick. Re: Geting a shock!
Up here in Canada most of our phone stuff is 48 Volts DC. I believe yours is the same in the U.S.
I have had many shocks from that and I find it quite unpleasent, more so than 110 V AC. Allan |
