Apparently not. 'tis the season you know!

Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
I talked to Bruce at Pomona here and he said it is a done deal. The rule will read it has to be an oem style rocker meaning if it is a stud type it must be stud type. If its a shaft type it must be a shaft type.

Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
Yea i heard that too Bob, but in my past 47 years of racing experience, you better see it in writing, and get a copy of it!

Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
The rulebook will supposedly be available at Orlando at the PRI Show.
No one I know has actually seen any paperwork. Inquiries to NHRA, as usual, go unanswered. |
Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
I spoke to one of the manufactures at Vegas they have been working on these for awhile I am sure NHRA will have a list of acceptable rockers.

Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
Now Good or bad or are we just whining about something that will really not change performance that much if at all?
If you do not mind I would like to make just a small comment on this. As the statement above says this will not enjoy a large power gain and it may reduce cost but that (to me) is not the issue. The real underlying issue here is that it will indeed allow engines to go higher in the RPM bracket So, yes, the rocker arm itself may not lend to a power improvement in its self, but tack on the additional rpm that you can theoretically escalate to. Yep, now you have seen a power gain thru more RPM. But this is not the real problem. Again, we further move away from stock and we will just move onto another weak point in the system. Where do you put a stake in the ground and say"This is a stock class, no more changes". Another point is that you may have just made many cars no longer competitive and others may just got super competitive. What a bout the racear that has worked for years to get his system good and now this rule could make other cars super competitive thru a rule change and not diligent work and development. You say this will help level the playing field with the newer cars. All the fussing for the newer cars is from bogus ratings and not additions. Solve the real problem, but dont move to correct problems with the purchase of more parts that were not stock. Ok I done. My bad reed |
Re: Roller Rockers-Stock
I was told by my DTD at the Dutch that it ain't gonna happen.
