Hoosier tire compound recommendation for bias 9X30
Hello,
A poster on YB recommended that I post this question on this forum. For a 3800 lbs., 3 speed automatic, footbraked 10 second car would you recommend the 9X30 bias ply tire in the D05 or D07 compound? One response on YB hinted that D07 is a manual transmission compound. Does this indicate that it is firmer than the C07? Is the car too heavy for the D05? Thanks. |
Re: Hoosier tire compound recommendation for bias 9X30
I believe he is correct. My car is about 3800# and when I used to run Hoosiers I ran the D07 but I run M/T's now and I don't think I'd go back.

Re: Hoosier tire compound recommendation for bias 9X30
Use the Hoosier radials in probably the CO7 compound. I run the CO6's and have been in the low 1.30's in 60'. I think the radials are more consistent than the bias. The CO7's have a stiffer sidewall and a little more rubber on the tread but the 6's are lighter.

D07 is for manual trans. Hoosier tech can probably make a recommendaton for you.

Re: Hoosier tire compound recommendation for bias 9X30
I've got a radial but I'm looking for a super hooking bias to be more consistent with. Since only the two compounds are offered in the 30X9 inch size should I look at a slick from another brand for my application?
