Re: 5 point harness roll bar weld tabs
I just have one and is on the rear side of the cross bar pointing down. Ensure you have enough room to get the bolt and nut through the hole before you finish weld the tab.

Re: 5 point harness roll bar weld tabs
Wrap around attachment is perfectly legal as long as the harness has something to limit sideways movement , of course you dont want to bunch them up on top of each other to go over the seat.
If you use a bolt in V harness the anchor point is supposed to be no more than 4" below the top of the drivers shoulder. this is a problem on many older roll bars ,as the shoulder bar is placed too low in relation to the seat, but has sort of been overlooked by tech guys in the past. There seems to be a new interest in harness mounting by tech inspectors ,as I've talked to several racers who have been told to relocate their harnesses when having the chassis cert renewed. I use a large chassis tab welded to the bar at an angle that allows the harness to follow a natural line over the shoulder. |
