Do I need a parachute?

Since NHRA is coming back to my area, I just want to make sure my car will pass tech

I Bracket Race the car, that's it. So I will be Bracket Racing in the No Electronics Class at VMP

The car in current trim runs in the 9.70's at 138 mph

I have Cage, Window Net, Full Face, Gloves, Neck Collar and Suit. I do not have a NHRA License and the Cage is not certed

I'm guessing I will need those also?

Thanks

No chute (would apply if running 150) but you'll need the license and certified cage. Got a diaper? SFI damper, shield/bellhousing ? At least a SA2000 helmet? Etc?

Diaper- Call DRE.

I'll bet you need a chute. You should need everything that S/G needs

You don't need a chute unless you go over 150 MPH and may not even need a diaper. Depends (no joke intended) on the track. 9 second bracket cars here in the Pacific N/W aren't required to have a diaper. (yet)

Or slow the car down to run 10's and save a bunch of $$$$

I think ever one should be required to have a diaper. I know a lot of people don't want to hassel with one, But having wrecked a car after getting in oil put out by the car in front of me makes me feel that way. Spend 20 to 25 thousand dollars fixing your car because you wrecked because of someone elses will change your mind in a hurry. Also, how many times have you been at a track and there has been a lot of down time while they are cleaning the track after someone has oiled it down. Thats one of the biggest reasons I don't bracket race much any more. Way too much down time from clean up.
