Sounds suspiciously like some of the "stand-alone" Pro-Am's go away next year. Could be good for the TOC qualifiers and larger contingency pay-outs at the Nitro-jam events! Still no schedule posted, but this news somewhat explains the delay.

Yup! I'm good with this one also. Looks like a labor saving move to me.Why go to the same track twice to have the ProAm when you can do it in one weekend with the Nitro Jam..I think they did not have the Sportsman cars there last year to monitor this move.Sounds like good planning on the part of IHRA. We all know it's all good with the sportsman racers.

Re: IHRA news 11-30-11

I wonder what the entry fees are going to be? If the race on sat is a championship qualifier, are they going to go back to the $190 to enter as they have done with sportsman nationals in the past or will they keep it at the $135?

while I am at it, why do div 9 racers only havet o pay $125 at a pro-am and the rest of the country pays $135? I know it is only $10, but it does't seem quite right to me. Why doesn't IHRA just make it $125 across the board?

This format seems like a great idea, but the big problem I see is IHRA.

I would assume that decision would be made on a case-by-case basis, just as it has always been. Location of the event, how far along in eliminations did they get, etc, etc. There's no one-size-fits-all solution. I've seen them completely reschedule a weekend, finish the last couple rounds at a separate event, or even be proactive and start eliminations early.

I know Chip!.I think all the rest of feel that way about the div 9 racers! lol!!!

I am just pointing that fact out. I was told that it was because all the div 9 races are singles, so you have to make more trips to get your in division races in.

as far as what people are saying about rain, no one can control that. The smartest thing they could do is to look at historical records and try to schedule the races around the average weather in different parts of the country.
