WTB 56 2 x 4s for corvette
 

I know there are clones, I know I could use a late model motor but I am hoping to get someone to sell an original Corvette 2 x 4 carbs, even if they need work.FOUND THE MANIFOLD>
I am building a tribute car that would be better if it had all the right stuff.(for me)
I will buy manifold, and carbs separate if you have them. Thanks Dick Butler

56 carbs and early 57 carbs are hard to find. They have the idle air screws near the secondary throttle shaft in the base plate. I have a set if you need casting numbers. I also have a 56 Chev .

Thanks for suggestions. I have found a couple of sets which are "rare priced". I will keep watching as I am not needing them today. The body work and chassis are nearing completion. Then as I can I will assemble the rest. Need to sell the Belvedere to create more cash flow for Delivery project.

Dick-- 1956 Chevy 2x4 manifolds #3728725 1st design and 2nd design #3731394 manifolds with 4 individual holes for carb barrels(1956 only and very very early 1957) versus #3739653 (1957-1961) which had 2 holes and one large figure 8 hole for each carb are available for anywhere from $200 to $700-$ 800 depending on condition and who you buy them from. Carbs(2419s & 2362s) are priced all over the place again condition is the pricing factor here...might do this piecemeal and get what you can afford now and as $$$$$ permits make a purchase of the rest of the parts as you go along---pay particular attention to bolt holes( manifold to head) on engines that have been decked the bolt holes will generally crack at 4 & 8 oclock positions ya hafta look very carefully---also look under the oil shield the tend to rot out in there - plus the heater hose nipples usually are rusted into the manifold very touchy repair to do properly----Comp

1956 chevy factory dual quad set up, complete carbs and intake, needs rebuilt, could use on vette? all correct numbers, $1,000. please call 847-877-6797. may take trade, no tex.
