4 corner water?

i have a power products intake which has provisions for 4 corner water. a roundy round racer told me that it really works and better yet was to pipe it from the rear to a manifold block under the 'stat housing.
my question are 1. does the corner to corner really work? 2. does the block under the 'stat work? 3 is one better than the other?

thanks rod in AZ

A crossover with a bleeder will allow you to purge air from the rear of the heads when filling the system. (a definate plus). Plumbing from the rear of the manifold to the t-stat area or the water pump will circulate coolant from the rear of the heads; a superior design to O.E. We have used this method to solve cooling problems in supercharged street engines at my shop for many years. For drag racing I think careful purging of air pockets from the cooling system is more than adequate for most apps but if you want to idle your 600 C.I. 14/71 blown BBC thru the parade route for a couple of hours in 100 degree temps with the A.C. on (so the tootsie in shotgun is comfy) you will need to use the alternate method.

The circle track stuff has all sorts of heat issues. I can't see any advantage to running extra hoses on a drag car. I have considered reverse flow cooling ? ---Trevor
